Samurai Zer is a Chrome extension and website that helps users understand YouTube videos by showing transcripts, translations, summaries, and critical analysis directly on the YouTube page.

Data we collect

Depending on how you use Samurai Zer, we may collect the following data:

Account information: your Google account email address, display name, and Google account identifier after you sign in.
Video and usage information: YouTube video ID, selected languages, requested operation such as transcript, translation, summary, or analysis, timestamps of requests, token usage, cache status, provider status, and error status.
Transcript and page content used for processing: YouTube captions or transcript text needed to provide translation, summary, and analysis.
Billing information: Stripe customer ID, subscription or checkout status, plan name, token limits, token usage, and payment status. We do not collect or store full credit card numbers.
Preferences and local extension data: selected language, UI settings, authentication state, and local data needed for normal extension operation.
Support messages: your name, email address, and message if you contact us through the website feedback or contact form.

How we use data

We use this data only to provide and improve Samurai Zer:

to display YouTube transcripts on the page;
to translate transcript text;
to generate summaries and critical analysis;
to manage accounts, sign-in, plans, subscriptions, and token balances;
to prevent duplicate token charges for the same video;
to maintain security, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse;
to answer support requests.

AI and server-side processing

Samurai Zer sends transcript text and related request data to our backend server so it can generate translations, summaries, and analysis. The backend may use AI service providers to process this text and return results. Responses are treated as data and are not executed as code by the extension.

Payments

Payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Samurai Zer receives billing status information from Stripe, such as checkout completion, subscription status, Stripe customer ID, invoice/payment status, and plan details. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.

Data sharing

We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.

We share data only when needed to operate Samurai Zer, including with infrastructure providers, Stripe for billing, and AI providers for transcript translation, summary, and analysis.

Data retention

We retain account, billing, token, and usage records while needed to provide the service, support user accounts, prevent duplicate charges, diagnose errors, and meet operational or legal requirements. Cached processing results may be retained to improve performance and reduce repeated processing.

Your choices

You can stop using the extension at any time and remove it from Chrome. You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data, subject to operational and legal requirements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Samurai Zer is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the product, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page.
